Janice Soloman Obituary
Solomon, Janice Anne July 8, 1938 - January 13, 2006. Janice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Janice fought her battle with ALS with grace, dignity and courage. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family. Janice graduated from Wheaton High School as valedictorian. She attended North Dakota State University for two years and then transferred to the University of North Dakota where she majored in Home Economics and graduated with Honors. Along with her many talents, she was also a strong advocate for peace. Janice and her husband Joel resided in Grand Rapids, MN and recently moved to Edina, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Evelyn (Beckman) Deal; stepmother, Frances Deal; brother-in-law, Leroy Backman and Michael Dunbar (father of Debora). She is survived by her husband, Joel Solomon; daughter Debora (Jim) Mars and their son, Daniel; sons, Elliott Bong, Kevin Bong and his children Haley & Jordan, and Emery Bong (Tami) and their sons Samuel sisters, Jeanne Backman, and Ida Mae Hippe (Allan); brothers, Joseph Deal (Caroline), Leo Deal (Kathy); stepbrother Doyle Moeller; and Erroll Bong (father of Elliott, Kevin and Emery). Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5071 Eden Avenue in Edina on Tuesday beginning at 10:00am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 Noon. Private family interment will be held on Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe, WI.
