Janice Szulczewski Obituary Szulczewski, Janice H. Jan' Age 75 of Plymouth. Jan passed away peacefully on May 6, 2009 with her daughter at her side, from an unexpected reoccurrence of cancer. She is preceded in death by her son, Brian; her husband, Dick; her parents, Jim and Evelyn Nanscawen, and stepmother, Freda Nanscawen. Jan will be deeply missed by loving daughter, Susan; and beloved granddog, Oscar. Further survived by caring brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Nancy Szulczewski; niece, Kelly Owen & husband Glenn of California; nephews, Scott and wife Liz Szulczewski of Oregon; grandnephews, Nathan, Kyle & Casey Owen & Sam Szulczewski; grandniece, Isabelle Szulczewski. Jan was born and raised in the Milwaukee, Wis. Area, where she met her husband Dick on a blind date. Jan was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a friend & cheerleader to all who crossed her path. Jan's passion in life was quilting. She had an exceptional eye for fabric and patterns, and could turn them into works of functional art that brought warmth to the many she shared them with. Jan will be dearly missed by her family & friends, her quilting babes, the quilting community, & her church family at Colonial Church of Edina. A celebration of Jan's life will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at Colonial Church of Edina, 6200 Colonial Way. Visitation on Sunday from 5-7 PM at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata. Jan's ashes will be scattered after the service, followed by a luncheon at the church.
