Jeanne
Klein (Pecnik)
April 3, 1949 – December 4, 2025
Jeanne Klein (Pecnik)
Plymouth - Age 76, of Plymouth, MN. Her 12-year struggle with Alzheimer's ended peacefully on December 4, 2025 while surrounded by family at her bedside.
Preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (Bobak) Pecnik, brother John ("Skip") and sister-in-law Patricia Pecnik, sister-in-law Frances (Klein) Hanus and son Jeremy.
Jeanne was a day care provider in the 90's and a preschool teacher until 2012. She earned a master's degree in early childhood education from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio in 1975. She loved teaching preschool and ran the entire preschool operation in her home. She picked up the children, fed them lunch, took them on day trips to museums, zoos and other places, and returned them to their day care providers, all while teaching them their ABC's, numbers, colors, geometric shapes, seasons, holidays, coloring and cutting, arts and craft projects, etc. She was invited to many high school graduation parties which consistently displayed her preschool yearbook for the year they graduated, and was loved by many. She volunteered at Holy Name of Jesus in Medina Catholic Church's Fine Dining for many years, serving the families of children in classes on Wednesday nights. She was both a Boy's Scout den leader and a Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by her husband, Chris, of nearly 53 years; sons Tim (Angie) and Joseph (Kari); daughters Molly Sturgis (Eric) and Erin Steinbach; brothers Richard (Mary) and Charles (Kathy); and sister Jan Troha (Mel); 11 grandchildren (Isabelle, Ethan, Carter, Mason, Cameron, Makayla, Caleb, Kaianna, Evelyn, Telford and Harriet); and many other relatives and friends.
We wish to thank the loving staff at Sinceri's (formerly Brookdale) Lakeside Memory Care facility in Plymouth, MN, for the great care they provided Jeanne in her final years. Thanks to the staff at Interim Hospice who provided such loving care as Jeanne progressed in her illness. Thanks to the many friends that visited Jeanne during her residence there. What a blessing Jeanne received from those visits and care! Truly, all these people made Chris' job of caregiving so much easier.
We will hold a Memorial Mass service at The Church of St. Noel in Willoughby, Ohio on Saturday April, 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Funeral Memorial Mass at The Church of The Holy Name of Jesus, in Medina on Friday May 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM with interment at Holy Name Cemetery, Medina, MN.
