Joan was a beautiful shining spirit whose smile would light up the room. She was a true friend, sensitive listener and wanted everyone to feel included, always taking time to reach out and help others in need.

After moving to the US and landing in Minnesota with Frank, Heather and Fred, Joan volunteered for several organizations including the Junior League of St. Paul, The League Club of Naples, the Childrens Hospital of St. Paul (gala organizer), and the Minnesota USTA board. Joan was always open to stepping up to be of service and was a real team player that others could rely on to get the job done with excellence and style. She could also be found participating in bridge club, book club, investment club or doing various home projects and artistic pursuits that she enjoyed, such as designing clothes, painting in water colors or drawing or out on the linai reading a current best seller.
With an active lifestyle, Joan was a 4.0 ranked USTA tennis player and enjoyed biking, snow skiing, walking on the beaches of Barefoot Beach and Treasure Cay, boat rides on Beaver Dam (WI) and Lake Minnetonka, as well as traveling throughout Europe, Asia, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Joan loved to garden and would always make a point of grabbing Frank or the children when she saw the dolphins swimming by in Bonita Bay.
