John Muchlinski Obituary John R. Muchlinski, age 80, of Plymouth, MN died peacefully at home on November 19, 2016 after a long fight with B-cell lymphoma. John is fondly remembered and admired by many in the Wayzata community for his storied career at Wayzata High School teaching Mathematics, coaching sports, and serving as Director of Athletics. In all his roles - Husband, Father, Teacher, Coach and Community Member - John was a hard-working and selfless teammate, an enthusiastic and supportive fan, an even-handed and fair referee, and a true and good sport. Born and raised in Ivanhoe, Minnesota, John graduated from St. Johns University in Collegeville, MN and served in the Minnesota National Guard. John and Rose, his devoted wife, married and raised five children. In retirement, the couple travelled the world together. Their 56-year marriage is a testament to what mutual love, devotion, gratitude and appreciation can achieve. John is preceded in death by his son, Michael and parents, Lucian and Alma Muchlinski. He is survived by Rose and his four loving daughters, Kathryn (Ludger) and children, Ingemar and Linnea; Susan (Phillip) and sons, Phillip and Nicholas; Mary and son Jack; and Amy (Joe) and daughters, Addison and Michaela. Also, he is survived by brothers, Jim Muchlinski, Tom Muchlinski and sister, Mary Kelly. Thank you to all who cared for John throughout his illness. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Johns life will be Saturday, November 26 at 11:00am with visitation at 10:00am at The Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata, MN.
