Josephine Kretsch Obituary
Age 96 resident of English Rose Suites in Edina, passed away November 15, 2016. Preceded in death by husband, John Robert Kretsch; parents, Thomas McKasy and Josephine Whalen McKasy; one sister, 5 brothers, and one son-in-law. Survived by daughters, Kathleen Wanner (Bill) and Molly Kretsch-Crawford; sons, John, Tom, Brian (Sue) and Kevin (Patty) Kretsch; 10 grandchildren; 15 nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Josephine was an active parishioner at St. Therese Church and the related womans guild. After raising her children, she returned to the College of St. Catherines and completed her degree in 1976; she subsequently worked as a geriatric social worker. Much of her adult life was devoted to the care of her injured son, and on his behalf, she established the Brain Resource Library at "A Chance to Grow" in Minneapolis. For this and other accomplishments she was recognized in 1988 in the "Worlds Whos Who of Women". In her spare time, Josephine enjoyed bridge, biking, swimming and tennis. The family sincerely thanks the staff at the English Rose Suites for their loving care of our mother in her last years. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday November 23, 2016 11 AM at The Church of St. Therese, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd in Deephaven. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights following the reception. Memorials in memory of Josephine Kretsch (no flowers please) to St. Therese Church or "A Chance To Grow" (specify Josephine Kretsch memorial).
