Obituary

Judith Brierton Obituary Judy passed away peacefully on May 11th after battling a multitude of illnesses. She was born in Waukesha, WI to Frank and Louise Ruch, attended high school at Catholic Memorial High School, and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. In 1966, she married her high school sweetheart, David Brierton and they moved to Madison, WI while David attended graduate school. In 1972, they relocated to the Twin Cities when David started his company, Dominium. While David was building Dominium, Judy was the constant for their family life. They raised six children who were active in sports, Scouts, clubs, and other activities. Judy was an active volunteer for many years with her kids activities at St. Barts school in Wayzata, and fundraising for The Childrens Hospital in Minneapolis. During this period she enjoyed playing golf, cards and spending time with her dear friends from Shiloh. Later in life she spent time traveling the world, often visiting her daughter in Spain and Namibia, or with her good friend, or her sister-in-law, to see China, Vietnam, the Middle East, and other parts of Europe. She also loved spending time in Destin and at the family cabin in WI. Her family remembers her most for her patience, kindness, and gentleness, her love of her grandchildren, her enjoyment of her family, and her love of the game Bananagrams. She is survived by her 6 children, Kristin (Brendon) Dennewill, Kerry (Mark) Wetterling, Kevin (April) Brierton, Keely (Kevin) Travers, Kolin Brierton, and Korey (Nina) Brierton and her grandchildren, Ava, Harry, and Maya Dennewill, Kerry Gilar, Ellsie, Henry, and Louie Wetterling, Madelyn, Connor, Charlie, and Maeley Travers, Emma Brierton, Mariah, Manuela, and David Brierton; her sister, Dolly Schmitz, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list, but not forgotten. Judys family will be forever grateful for the love and support of Judys caregiver, Pam Olson, for almost 4 years. Judy is reunited with the love of her life and husband of many years, David, her parents, her brother, and her In-laws. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 E Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata with a luncheon to follow. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church. Memorials preferred to Catholic Charities.
