Karen Grecula Obituary Grecula, Karen Marie (Phillips) Age 64, of Plymouth, passed away March 27, 2014 at home. Karen was born August 5, 1949 in Cold Spring, MN to Joyce Bohnen Phillips and Armand R. Phillips. She graduated from St Boniface Catholic High School in 1967 and went on to become a Registered Nurse through St. Cloud School of Nursing before furthering her education with a Bachelor of Science at the College of St. Francis. She married John P. Grecula October 2, 1970 and had two children, Becky Jean Brandt (Ashley) of Long Lake, MN and Timothy John Grecula (Sarah) of Woodbury, MN. Karen was a long time member of Holy Name of Jesus of Medina as well as a member of the Wayzata American Legion Auxiliary Post #118 for 20 years. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family including multiple scuba diving excursions, reading books, playing cards and games, baking her signature treats and training beagles over the years. She spent much of her spare time with her beloved grandchildren, Christian, Alissa and Anna Brandt and Layna and Anders Grecula. She was most recently employed by Park Nicollet in Minnetonka. Survived by her mother, husband of 43 years, two children, five grandchildren, sisters, Peg Dietman (Steve), Sue Phillips, Nancy VanOverbeke (Randy), Mary VanHavermaet (Gene) and brothers, Mike (Suzanne) and John (Ann). She was preceded in death by her father. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 County Road 24, Medina. Visitation Thursday April 3 5-7 PM at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata and an hour prior to Mass church. Memorials may be directed to Autism Speaks, The Animal Humane Society of Minneapolis, Susan G.
