Obituary

Karen Moeller Obituary Age 42, of Maple Plain, Minnesota, left us much too soon following an unexpected complication from her bravely fought battle with cancer. She took her final flight home on September 28, 2019, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, compassion, and grace. Karens center and greatest joy was her treasured family, her husband of 13 years, Troy Moeller, and their precious daughters, Amelia and Kaily. Some of Karens happiest moments were spent with her beautiful girls, as she and Troy watched them blossom, thriving in school, gymnastics, horseback riding, singing, or playing their instruments. Karen began her journey on March 11, 1977 in Bristol, CT. The youngest of five, she was the cherished and only daughter of Paul and Margaret "Peggy" (Dieckow) Keller of Burlington, CT. Karen was a 1995 graduate of Lewis Mills High School and continued her education at Averett University, VA, earning a degree in Aviation Management. Karen, an accomplished pilot for Endeavor Airlines, discovered her lifes passion as a young girl on her familys visits to local airports where they enjoyed watching the planes take off and land. So inspired by her fathers love of flying, she joined the Cloud Chasers organization sponsored through Robertson Airport in Plainville, CT. Karen spent many cheerful afternoons there flying with her dad, a special bond they shared all her life. In addition to her devoted husband and best friend, Troy, and their precious daughters, Karen will be missed by her adoring parents, Peggy and Paul. Accompanying them are her brothers, David Keller (Kristen) of Burlington, CT, Hans Keller (Kerri) of Pasadena, MD and Peter Keller of Kennesaw, GA. She will be welcomed by her beloved brother, Gordon Keller (Alyson) of Canton, CT who predeceased her. Karens extended family will feel her loss as she will be missed by her in-laws, Linda and Larry Moeller, MN, her sister-in-law, Traci Klemish (Gary) and many dear aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, nephews, and friends. Karen will be mourned by the members of the First Presbyterian Church of Maple Plain where she enjoyed worshipping and serving on the Christian Nurture Committee. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to her many good friends in the aviation community, most especially Elisa and Julie, as Karens battle was more bearable due to the continued support, strength and smiles throughout. Friends may call at the First Presbyterian Church of Maple Plain, 558 County Road 110, on Sunday, October 6th from 4-6 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 7th at the First Presbyterian Church of Maple Plain starting with a gathering at 3:00PM and a memorial service at 4:00PM followed by a reception at Independence City Hall. For those who cannot make it to Minnesota a celebration of Karens life will be held at the Burlington Congregational Church in Burlington, CT on November 2nd at 10:00AM with a reception to follow.
