Karen Shoutz Obituary Shoutz, Karen F., 79, of Glendale, AZ passed away with her family by her side on January 2, 2024. Karen was born in Minneapolis June 11, 1944 to Elliot and Ruth Kjeseth. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in South Minneapolis. Karen met the love of her life, Richard O. Hedtke, at a roller-skating rink in 1963. They married in 1965 and had 3 children and 20 wonderful years together. Karen spent many years as a bookkeeper before she went into business for herself. She found her passion in sewing and embroidery; she called her business Karens Place. She sold embroidered dishtowels at craft fairs for many years before expanding her business to online. Karen enjoyed deer hunting and summer fishing. She bowled for 25 years and attended many state and national tournaments. She was involved in a few book clubs over the years. Karen married Vernon Shoutz in 1988 and spent 34 years together. Karen is preceded in death by parents, Elliot and Ruth Kjeseth; brother, Elliot Kjeseth Jr.; brother, Bruce Kjeseth; husband, Richard Hedtke; and husband, Vernon Shoutz. Survived by children, Pam Banks, Sandra (Steve Brandt) Hedtke, Todd Hedtke; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00 pm with visitation at 1:00 pm. Burial immediately after at Parkers Lake Cemetery, Plymouth.
