Karen Stokfisz Obituary Stokfisz, Karen E. Age 48 passed away at home on Monday, July 12, 2010 with her family at her side. She bravely battled hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) for three months, always feeling she could win the battle. She was born July 20, 1961, attended parochial schools in Appleton, WI, getting her degree in Medical Technology at the Univ. of Eau Claire. Karen married Jeffrey Stokfisz on October 19, 1985 and started work at what is now Beckman Coulter Co. in Chaska, MN. As Systems Quality Manager she worked closely with the Food and Drug Administration and in Training and Development, which took her to France, Belgium, Ireland and many locations in the United States. Karen is survived by her husband, Jeffrey; two sons, Gregory and Nicholas, both at home. She is further survived by her mother, Joan Lorge of Appleton, WI; four brothers, Timothy (Jennifer), Patrick (Carolyn), Daniel, and Gary (Lynn) Lorge; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Stokfisz; and brother-in-law, Michael Stokfisz, both of Minnetonka, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Lorge; her sister, Mary Jo Lorge; and her father- in-law, Konrad Stokfisz. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday, July 17, 2010, at The Church of St. Therese of Deephaven, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka. Visitation Friday 5-8 PM at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata and 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Shorewood.
