Kathleen Beck Obituary Age 78 of Maple Grove, MN. After a year long brave fight against lung cancer, she went to be with the Lord August 3, 2011. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert Beck for 58 years, loving mother to Lynn (Beck) Boe, Jeffrey Beck, John Beck and Steven Beck. As a doting grandmother to nine children and their spouses, four step grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, she never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was born February 1, 1933 in Mankato, MN, graduated from Mankato High School, studied two years at Gustavus Adolphus College, and 4 years at McPhail Center of Music. Kathie was an Executive Secretary at the Plymouth Police Department, and Orono Schools District Office. She was office manager for Custom Concepts, and piano teacher to many children in Bloomington, MN. An incredible pianist, she performed frequently for her church congregation and many family events. She was a faithful church member, passing her love for the Lord on to each of her children. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for Kids Care Connection at Messiah Methodist, or the American Cancer Society. Funeral service will be held August 9, 2011 at 11:00 am, at Messiah United Methodist Church, 17805 County Road 6, Plymouth, MN. Visitation one hour before at 10:00 at Messiah and in the evening on Monday, August 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata.
