Kathryn Heil Obituary Kathryn Hoover Heil, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was 64 when she passed away suddenly on May 16, 2024. She leaves behind her soulmate and husband of 38 years, Steve, daughters, Alyssa (Stephen) Heath, Stephanie Heil, and her son, Zachary (Cassie) Heil, as well as her grandchildren she delighted in: Quinn, Titus, Jasper, and Sylvie Heath, and Morgan Heil. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
The world became a brighter and better place when she was born on March 9, 1960, to Dean Hoover and Lois Schonning in Faribault, MN. Kathies childhood was steeped in family, faith, and traditions. She had wonderful memories growing up with her sisters, brother, and cousins that led to life long friendships. She graduated with an Associates Degree in Accounting from Golden Valley Lutheran College, and held many jobs and titles throughout the years, but family was always her priority.
Kathie met the love of her life, Steve, in 1978, through her mom, when Lois and Steve were working together at Northfield Dilley Unit. They married in 1985, and together created a beautiful family. Kathie adored being a wife and mother - she had the gift of hospitality, and found joy in running a household and caring for her family. Her faith was the cornerstone of how she raised her children, and ensured they each knew how much Jesus loved them. Continuing to model and demonstrate her faith, Kathie and her family spent time in Berlin, Germany, in 2001, as part of a church plant. She was a creative at heart and found ways to make even the littlest things fun: from making up her own hilarious dictionary of new words for everyday things, to crafting and sewing projects together. Kathie even made many of the dresses her girls wore in their younger years.
As much as she loved being a mother, gaining the title of "Grammy" was her absolute favorite, and she was the very best grandma. She celebrated every milestone from learning to sit and crawl, to every tooth lost, and every birthday and holiday was special. She made all of those closest to her feel loved, cherished, and thought of at every opportunity.
Kathie will forever be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, supportive and caring mother, dedicated and incredibly fun grandma, and a beautiful, generous person who was quick to support and serve anyone she met.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Kathies honor on May 23, 2024 at Grace Fellowship Church, 8601 101st Ave N in Brooklyn Park at 11 AM and visitation starting at 9:30 AM followed by a lunch reception.
