Kathryn Murphy Obituary Murphy, Kathryn B. Kate Died unexpectedly Dec. 16, 2008. In the final hours, she was surrounded by her husband, sons, daughters-in- law and grandchildren. Kate was born May 1932. Married for 56 years. Preceded in death by parents, three sisters, and a brother. Survived by husband, John; sons, Tim, Tom, Pat, Sean, Brendan and Shane; 11 grandchildren; 1 great- grandchild; sister, Audrey; and brother, Robert. Kate was a loving wife who put husband and family first. She was a mother to all, showing the love of Mary and Christ to all who crossed her path. She also loved to decorate, running Emerald Room Interiors for many years. She was passionate about cooking and entertaining, opening her door to any who came. No one ever left hungry. She loved to garden, watch baseball and play cards. Kate was a dedicated parishioner at St. Mary of the Lake as a greeter and supporting her husband on the parish council. In 1992 Kate contracted non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, fighting and beating the cancer into remission, but in the end, cancer did not take her life! Kate always placed others first, her final words inspired others and gave hope. She loved people. Kate is greatly missed by all. On Monday, Dec. 22 a memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am preceded by a visitation hour and followed by a luncheon at St. Mary of the Lake, Plymouth (763) 545-1443.
