Kenneth Jensen Obituary Jensen, Kenneth P. age 97, of Plymouth, passed away January 23, 2013 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Joan Jensen; his second wife, Marjorie Benson Jensen and Marjories son, Lawrence Benson. He is survived by his children, Susan Levi (Dave), Steven Jensen, Barbara Jensen and Karen Jensen Hulting (Fred); Marjories daughter, Louise Benson Leatherdale (Doug); grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ken graduated from Minneapolis South High School in 1934 and was a World War II veteran. Ken worked in the City of Minneapolis Housing Inspection Department until his retirement in 1980 and taught evening classes in plumbing at Dunwoody Institute for many years. Ken was a 72-year member of Plumbers Local Union #15 and a very active participant in the unions retiree club. Ken was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing throughout his life. He was also a musician, playing clarinet and tenor saxophone in Bob Owens big band in the 1930s and the Minneapolis Shriners Zuhrah Concert Band in the 1990s.
A memorial service will be held for Ken at 10:00am on Monday February 11, 2013 at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, 17205 County Road 6, Plymouth, MN (763-475-7100) with visitation one hour prior to service. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church or the Communication Center Fund to support Communication Center, MN State Services for the Blind.
