Kenneth Orcutt Obituary Orcutt, Kenneth James, a former World War II pilot, died Friday, at the age of 90. A resident of Wayzata, Minnesota for the past 33 years. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Emma Maxine Orcutt; parents, Barbara Scott Orcutt and George Orcutt of Joliet, Illinois and his brother, Robert Orcutt. Survived by his daughters, Michelle Orcutt and Karen Orcutt, and his dog Mak. Ken was born on May 29, 1922, in Joliet, Illinois. He was a captain and B17 pilot in the 8th Air Force, European theater, part of the flying fortress, medaled WWII B17 Pilot, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, Three Battle Stars, and Medal of Good Conduct and other honors. Ken served a further distinguished business career in management services with the Burlington Railroad, trucking industry and air freight industry. In addition to Wayzata he resided in Joliet, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri and St. Joseph, Missouri. Ken was a member of the Masonic Temple , Shriners, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. The attributes described by anyone who knew him, a keen intelligence and strong character with kindness and openness to all. He lived life long, well and with social grace. Memorial service 12 PM Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 5084 Main St. E., Maple Plain. Visitation 5-7 PM Wednesday at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. Interment Summit Park Cemetery, Wayzata. Memorials may be directed to Orono Foundation for Education, Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia, Minnesota or Christ Lutheran Church.
