LaVerne McCloskey Obituary Born in Newark, NJ on November 29, 1930. Beloved wife of the late Stephen McCloskey whom she spent 60 happy years together. LaVerne was a Loving mother and mother-in-law to Celia McCloskey, Stephen (Lori) McCloskey, Sean McCloskey, Peggy (Tim) Lavanger, the late Patrick McCloskey, Billy (Julie) McCloskey, and the late Kathleen (Larry) Doty. Special grandmother and great grandmother to Danielle, Morgan, Kelly, Katie, Molly, Charlie, Megan, Ryan (Amanda) Michael, Eric, Kiley, Patrick, Madelyn, Stephen, Bill, Lauren (Brandon) Hazel, Jennifer, and Jack. LaVerne loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren whenever she could. LaVerne and Stephen raised 7 children in Belmar, NJ in a 3 story home with 4 bedrooms. She loved to cook for them, which was always a huge meal. The family took vacations and the stories were always great to listen to. LaVerne loved to shop at Target and of course, on the way home, she had to stop at Wendys. She also loved a good joke. LaVerne passed away peacefully on April 6, 2020. A private service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at David Lee Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be planned on a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands of Minneapolis or Loaves and Fishes.
