Linda Muschenheim Obituary Muschenheim, Linda A. of Wayzata, MN and St. Huberts, NY, died at home on July 27, 2007 after two years of illness. She was born Linda Lou Alexander in Portland, OR, on March 16, 1935, to Dr. O. Henry Alexander and Muriel Walther Alexander. Her father was a physician in the US Navy Medical Corps. The family was living in Hawaii at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941 and witnessed aerial combat. Linda attended a different school each year as the family moved from coast to coast, and graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco. She studied Occupational Therapy and received her degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in 1957. In 1958 she married Frederick Muschenheim, and the couple moved several times as he pursued a career in medicine. In Denver, CO, 1964-9, she taught art in the lower grades at Graland Country Day School. In Deephaven, MN in the 1970's she was a volunteer docent at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and briefly sold real estate. In Boonton Township, NJ, 1978-83, she co-authored a program, Learning to Look, for teaching art appreciation to grade school students. She was elected to the local Rockaway Valley School Board in Boonton Township. In Cazenovia, NY, 1984-2000, she was president of the Lake Association and the League of Women Voters. She was President of the Board of Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, a sculpture and nature park in Cazenovia. She also was President of the Auxiliary of the Association of Clinical Scientists, a national organization. The Muschenheim's have spent their summers for many years at the Ausable Club, St. Huberts, NY, where they have a summer cabin. In 2000, the family returned to the Twin Cities area after Dr. Muschenheim retired. In Wayzata, she was active at Wayzata Community Church and sang in its choir. Mrs. Muschenheim is survived by her husband and three children, Alexandra Lydia (Sandy), her husband Daniel O'Shea, and two children, Daniel and Michael O'Shea; Carl William (Bill) and his daughter, Linda, and step-daughter, Kamerria; and David Henry, his wife, Ellen, and daughter, Sofie. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra A. Carter, as well as ten nieces and nephews. An older sister, Marcia, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at Wayzata Community Church on Tuesday, July 31, at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family will be grateful for gifts to the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, Stone Quarry Road, Cazenovia, NY 13035 or to the Wayzata Community Church Choir, 125 Wayzata Boulevard East, Wayzata, MN 55391.
