Obituary

Lola Wheeler Obituary Wheeler, Lola Eda, age 96, born in Ashland, Wisconsin and died peacefully at home in Minnetonka on July 21, 2010. Lola was a person of many interests, a writer and storyteller who loved corny jokes. She enjoyed theater and music; she appreciated all creatures of nature and wanted everyone to experience the joy of clean air and water through the projects she supported. She especially valued spending time with her many friends. Lola graduated from Central High School in South St Paul and the University of Minnesota. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWIIachieving the rank of Yeoman Second Class (T). She taught 2nd and 3rd grades at the Eastern Heights School in St Paul, retiring in 1984. Lola had many favorite quotes but lived by this Ralph Waldo Emerson selection: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Preceded in death by husband, Walter Lawrence (Larry) Wheeler and Les Rogge. Survived by a host of great friends. Military Honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery 10AM, Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
