Lorna Beyer Obituary
Lorna Elaine Beyer was born on November 22, 1928 to Erick and Alice (Berry) Wagner in their Orono Township, Minnesota home and welcomed by her only sister, Ardith.
On April 10, 1954, Lorna married Melvin Maynard Beyer at Hope Evangelical United Brethren Church in Minneapolis where Melvin was an Elder, and made their home on Parkers Lake in Plymouth, Minnesota. They had one daughter, Jane, in 1959.
Lorna practically grew up at Faith Community Church of Independence, Minnesota, since the age of 5; and in 1969, Lorna & Mel moved their little family to Long Lake, MN where they once again connected with Faith, to which they were faithful members and called home -- they loved God and their Faith family.
Lorna & Mel enjoyed making home improvements and moved several times throughout their 46-year marriage; usually remaining in the western suburbs, except for one summer in Florida, where they often vacationed. Lornas vocation included Honeywell, Control Data, and Physical Electronics/Perkin Elmer; and as a side hobby co-owned & operated a ceramic business with her sister. Throughout her life, Lorna faithfully rose to the occasion as a benevolent caretaker of her family in their declining years. Upon retirement, she made keepsake teddy bears from heirloom fur coats and machine embroidered dishtowels. Lorna also enjoyed baking and making chocolate truffles, sewing, gardening, canning, music, raising puppies, and her flowers!
Lorna has lived in Plymouth, Minnesota for the past 27 years and passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East, near her daughter in Cambridge, Minnesota at the age of 88.
