Biography
Loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on May 27, 2017. She was preceded in death by Thomas J. Morison; parents, Harold H. Tearse and Katharine Searle Tearse; brother, Harold Tearse Jr.; sister, Helen Dobson Tearse. Lucia is survived by children, Thomas James Morison Jr and Katharine Morison Hull (Tom); grandchildren, Molly, Tommy (Aly) and Olivia Priedeman. Lucia was born in Minneapolis, grew up on Lake of the Isles and later raised her family in the Wayzata area. She attended Northrop Collegiate School, Smith College and later received a Masters at The University of Minnesota. Lucia loved the arts and supported the Minnesota Orchestra, Walker Art Center and The Guthrie Theater. She served on the first board of Directors of the Guthrie and was actively involved in its development and growth. She was a long time student at The Minnetonka Center for the Arts where she spent years with many of her artist friends. Her creativity and love of nature was portrayed through her paintings and her gardens. Lucia was a dog lover and loved every dog there was, especially, her springer spaniels and cavaliers and her "best friend" Lily. She was an avid traveler and explored the world with a smile. We are grateful for her legacy of humor, devotion, loyalty and love. She will be truly missed and loved forever.
Memorial service to be held at Lakewood Chapel, 36th and Hennepin Avenue, Saturday, June 10th at 10:00 a.m. Memorials welcome to Minnesota art or theater organization of choice or The Womens Foundation of Minnesota. Facts Born: October 21, 1925
