Margaret 'Margi' Riebe Obituary Riebe, Margaret "Margi" Sophie, 87, of Plymouth, MN, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024, at home on a beautiful, sunny cold winter day very fitting for those that knew her well. Margi was born in Minneapolis, MN, to August and Gerda Swenson and raised in Wayzata. She was a 1954 graduate of Wayzata High School and an avid athlete and cheerleader. After marrying Richard "Dick" Riebe in 1963, they eventually settled in the Wayzata/Plymouth area and raised their three boys. Margis personality was a combination of positivity, sassiness and grace all wrapped up in one. Albeit a "Stubborn Swede", her adventurous spirit led to many travels and fun experiences, resulting in countless lifelong friendships along the way. Her passion was downhill skiing, whether it was swooping down the hills in Colorado or many years of teaching and racing at Trollhaugen Ski Area in Wisconsin. Her other hobbies included reading, gardening and endless hours of solitaire and word search. However, her favorite thing to do was spending time with family, particularly the grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, her parents, and son Greg. Margi was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Swenson. Margi is survived by her son Ric (Kelly) and their daughters Sydney (great granddaughter Skylar) and Samantha, son Jeffrey, and daughter in law Kate (Greg) and their children August and Emma, along with many other loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church in Plymouth, MN. 10:00 am Visitation, 11:00 Service, 12:00 Reception.
