Marian L. Wilkinson, 94, died Nov. 25, 2025, in St. Louis Park, Minn., where she spent her final months in hospice care after residing in assisted living a number of years in Minnetonka, Minn., near her daughter, son-in-law and grandchild. A former Indianapolis resident, she was a clerk typist several years for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration before retiring.
Her previous jobs included stints with the city of Indianapolis, Rochester (Ind.) Sentinel and Akron (Ind.) News in her hometown.
Born Sept. 17, 1931, in Warsaw, Ind., to dentist Frank M. Belt and Ruth V. Belt of Akron, Wilkinson was the valedictorian of the Akron High School class of 1949.
Wilkinson was a 4-H leader in Wayne Township, Marion County, Ind., and long-time member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church before moving to Minnesota in 2018.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura (Jeff) Baenen of Plymouth, Minn.; a grandson, Christian Baenen; brother-in-law Richard (Bettye) Wilkinson of Indianapolis and sister-in-law Margaret Miles of Carbondale, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and Tim, her childhood cat.
A graveside service will be held at German Liberal Cemetery in Medina, Minn., at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2025
