Mariflo Lee Obituary
Lee, Mariflo Driver of Plymouth and Bismarck, passed away at the age of 83 on May 3, 2010 after an intense and brave eleven-month battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her loving children, David (Jodi) and Janice (Barbara). She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred C. and Eula Driver; brother, Donn and sister, Alice. Born December 28, 1926, Mariflo graduated from Bismarck High School during WWII and went on to receive her degree from Hamline University in St. Paul. She enjoyed her thirty-five year career as a medical technologist in Hematology at Veterans, Mount Sinai, and the University of Minnesota hospitals. Her volunteer efforts included presiding over the Wayzata area League of Women Voters in the mid 1970s, teaching Sunday school at Wayzata Community Church, and teaching disabled and mentally challenged children to swim. Mariflo lived life to the fullest and greatly enjoyed going to the theater and symphony, listening to Jazz 88.5, traveling, golfing, and her true passion of playing bridge. She greatly loved gathering with her family and friends for good times filled with laughter and singing and is survived by much-loved grandchildren, Jason and Jamie and all her nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at North Residential Hospice for their compassionate care of Mariflo and her family during her final days. Memorial service 11 AM Saturday at Wayzata Community Church, 125 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. Interment Groveland Cemetery, Minnetonka. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Minnesota Childrens Home Society, Humphrey Cancer Center, or North Memorial Residential Hospice.
