Marisa Scheid Obituary Marisa Scheid, age 89, affectionately known to family and friends as Nonna, went to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 15, 1931 in Lido-Venice, Italy. Although her absence will be greatly missed, she instilled in those that knew her a zest for life and a strong devotion to family. Spontaneous conversations with a complete stranger was a common occurrence with Marisa. She would listen intently and understood the importance of friendship. Strikingly beautiful, she turned heads everywhere she went. Those of us fortunate enough to know and understand her, knew that her outer beauty paled in comparison to her inner soul. Making others feel special and welcomed was her gift. Marisa is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Scheid; parents, Silvio & Beatrice Ballarin; brother, Luciano Ballarin (Wilma); father & mother-in-law, Lindon & Helena Scheid; sister-in-laws, Eileen Knott (George), Florence Westrup (Westy); and brother-in-law, Stanley Scheid. Marisa is survived by her loving children, Cynthia Wills (Travers), John Scheid (Selina), David Scheid (Ivo Hrabovsky), Debra Scheid-Zopfi (Arnie); grandchildren, Lance Scheid (Caley), Adam Scheid (Fallon) and Samantha Zopfi; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin and Amelia Scheid; sister-in-law, Cecil Laxen (Vince); nephew, Stefano Ballarin (Antonella) and caregiver and family friend, Elizabeth Sibri Rios Nonna, although it is with heavy hearts that you left us, your spirit and zest for life will forever live on in our hearts and souls. Marisa will be interred with her husband, Roger at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in a private family ceremony. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Stroke Association.
