Born in Minneapolis, Jorie attended Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota. She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She had many interests: music, opera, theater, art, sports, reading, handiwork and volunteering. She loved to entertain, to dance and to be with her friends. As a member of the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Auxiliary, she was President, Gift Shop Chair and a volunteer in the gift shop. She also enjoyed her involvement at the Minneapolis Institute of Art as a long time Friend of the Institute and volunteered in the Museum Shop. We will miss her presence in our lives for she was a woman who loved us dearly and gave much of herself to us. Our family would like to give a very special thank you to the many caregivers who helped Jorie live her life with joy and in safety for these last eight years with progressive memory loss. You were her guardian angels and she appreciated and was very grateful for each of you. Thank you to the staff of Home Instead Senior Care, the staff of Emerald Crest of Minnetonka, our hospice team from Ridgeview Medical Center, and to the many people at her favorite places she frequented these past years who showed her great kindness and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 22 at 1:00 pm at the Wayzata Community Church, 125 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata.
