Marlys Moores Obituary Marlys Eleanor Moores passed away January 4, 2023 at the age of 84. She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Mary Francis, nine siblings, and her beloved Arne Moores. She was born May 31, 1938 in Onamia, MN and and lived a big portion of her life in Brainerd, MN and the Venice, Florida area. Marlys was the oldest daughter in a family of 14 kids. She had a passion for a joy in living life. She loved to dance and it didnt matter too much the style, as long as it was country. Alan Jackson was on the top of the country list. She loved the water and lived on or near water (both lakes and oceans) for much of her life. She worked hard in many roles including legal secretary, customer service rep, accounting, volunteer at the police department, and most important to her was a homemaker. She loved sewing, baking, and cooking (as well as eating, not that she ever looked like that). She enjoyed time with friends playing cards and other games. She loved God and she loved her family, and she is loved by them and will be greatly missed. She is survived and missed by her children Tim (Jamie) Hamilton, Andi (Rick) Sorenson; siblings, Kenneth, Melvin, Allan, and Donald; Grandson: Derek (Jillian) Minor; great grandsons, Harrison and Henry; bonus grand and great grand children, Kelsey, Sam, Skyler, Willow, and Brayden; and many, many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata, MN on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m. Memorials preferred to donors favorite charity.
