Marvin McCoy Obituary
McCoy, Marvin M. age 74 of Minnetonka died, April 30, 2008. Survived by his daughters, Terry Preston and husband Paul, Linn Kezer and husband Dennis, Janet Taubel and husband Jerome; son, Paul McCoy and wife Sheri; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; loving companion, Betty Spaude; sister, Mildred Cox and brother, Robert Smith. Marvin played the Swiss alphorn in many festivals including the Taste of Minnesota, Festival of Nations, Heritage Fest and others. He was a professional French hornist and horn instructor. He performed with Henry Mancini, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, St. Paul Opera, Chicago Little Symphony, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, and Dick Schorys Percussion Pops Orchestra. Memorial service 11:00 am, Monday, May 5, 2008 at Messiah United Methodist Church, 17805 County Road 6, Plymouth, with gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at church.
