Mary Kelley Obituary
Kelley, Mary Moore Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, age 83, of Wayzata, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2007. Preceded in death by parents, Olive and Maurice Moore and brother, Malcolm Moore. Mary attended Northrop Collegiate School in Minneapolis and The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia. She graduated from Vassar College with a major in Chemistry. Following graduation Mary lived in San Francisco where she worked for Shell Oil and volunteered with the Ambulance Corps of the Red Cross during WW II. Mary is survived by her husband of sixty years, Richard, of Wayzata; her daughter, Katharine, and son-in-law, Douglas Donaldson, of Minneapolis; by sons: Richard, and daughter- in-law, Katharine Kelley of Manchester, VT; and Charles, and daughter- in-law Emily Kelley, of Orono; and seven grandchildren: Kerry Donaldson Hunt and her husband Lang Hunt; Julia Donaldson; Ryan, Tyler and Clare Kelley; Chris and Sam Kelley. Mary served on various boards in the Twin Cities including Big Sisters, The Junior League of Minneapolis, and Northrop Collegiate School. She was a member of Woodhill Country Club, The Minnetonka Garden Club, and Colonial Dames of America. Mary was an intelligent woman who loved to read, an accomplished athlete and avid golfer who won the Minikahda Women's Club Championship 13 times and the Woodhill Women's Club Championship two times. She also enjoyed tennis, bridge, and a life centered on family and her many friends. Besides her quiet competitiveness, she was focused and determined. She was kind, considerate, selfless, inclusive, and welcoming in her dealings with family and friends. A memorial service for Mary will be at 11:00 AM Friday, February 2, at the Wayzata Community Church (125 East Wayzata Blvd.) in Wayzata followed by a reception at Woodhill Country Club.
