Obituary

Mary Mueller Obituary Mueller, Mary Virginia (Scobee) of Plymouth. Mary was born in Belleville, IL, September 5, 1933 and died of cancer on October 26, 2005. She was the only daughter of Virginia Fields and Robert Allen Scobee who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of over 49 years, Richard M. Mueller (Dick), two sons, Christopher Allen Mueller (Rebeca L.) and David George Mueller (Karrie S.) and three very much loved grandchildren, Sara Virginia, Odin William and Oliver Thomas Mueller; and two cousins, Erwin Martin Scobee (Doris), Ellicott City, MD. and William Lee Scobee, Sumter, S.C. and many special friends. Mary began her education in St. Louis, Missouri, Ashland, Mo and Columbia Mo. She graduated in August 1954 from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a B.S. degree from the College of Education and postgraduate courses at San Diego State University. She taught four years at Ladue, MO. and nine years in San Diego. CA. She was a former member of the San Diego branch of AAUW, CFUW in Oakville Ontario Canada and a former member of the Minnetonka branch, AAUW. She was a member of the Minnesota Herb Society. She managed the Tea Room at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum for 17 years. Mary then joined the Grand Opening Staff of Camp Snoopy in 1992 and continued until her retirement in August 2004. While there she was a member of the Camp Snoopy Safety Team. She also enjoyed teaching adult gourmet and ethnic cooking at Marshall U High, Edina Community ED and Hennepin County South Campus, Eden Prairie. She supported the Wayzata Lions and the Viking Council of Boy Scouts. Most recently she became a member of the Captain John Holmes Chapter of the Minnesota Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was an active member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Plymouth MN. Funeral Service 11:00 am Monday at Messiah United Methodist Church 17805 Cty. Rd. 6 in Plymouth. Visitation 4-6 pm Sunday at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd. in Wayzata and 1 hr. prior to service at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
