Mary Printy Obituary Printy, Mary Joan born July 17, 1937 to Russell and Grace Johnson at their home in Independence, Minnesota. She passed away at home on April 7, 2025 at the age of 87. She trusted Jesus Christ for her salvation at a young age and had a great desire for God and a love for His word. She taught Sunday school classes for over 50 years. For grades one through six she attended the nearby one room Armstrong School. She graduated from Orono High School, Long Lake in 1955. She attended Northwestern College, Minneapolis in 1957. She married Robert Printy of Centerville, Iowa, Sept. of 1957. Their first home was in Maple Plain, then after five years they moved to rural Independence where they spent the rest of their lives. After high school graduation she worked for three years in the alterations department of Harolds, a womens clothing store in St. Louis Park. This expertise enabled Mary to start a home sewing business which she managed for the rest of her life. Mary was known for her homemade pies, caramel rolls, and bread, which she graciously shared. Mom enjoyed her extensive vegetable and flower gardens as well as hosting large family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Peter and Paul, and grandson, John Robert. She is survived by her five children, Mark (Karen) Printy of Mound, Wanda (Gene) Ohman of Saint Anthony, Joanne Cady of Saint Anthony, Dale (Amy) Printy of Plymouth, John (Sara) Printy of Woodbury, as well as 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation 5 7 p.m. Wednesday April 16th, 2025 at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17 at Maple Plain Community Church, 1815 Budd Avenue, Maple Plain with visitation one hour prior. Interment Lewis Cemetery, Maple Plain.
