MaryAnn Lindberg Obituary
Lindberg, MaryAnn (nee Schmid) MaryAnn Lindberg died peacefully on July 9, 2013 at her home in Greenfield, MN, after a yearlong struggle with cancer. MaryAnn was born Dec. 8, in St. Paul, MN, to John the Baptist (Jack) and Lilly Schmid. Mary Ann enjoyed a full, rich life. Her feisty determination, quick wit and genuine interest in people endeared her to all. Diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 3, Mary Ann gracefully battled health concerns all her life. She grew up in a loving home with four siblings in Highland Park. She graduated from Derham Hall in St. Paul and studied Art at the U of M and Highlands Univ. in NM. As a young bride, MaryAnn Unze moved across the country to Las Vegas, NM where she became an active member of the thriving art scene. She was actively involved in her children's education, was an Extraordinary Minister at Church of the Annunciation, and a member of ABQ Women's Symphony Association. True to her Minnesota roots, MaryAnn packed her family on bi-annual car trips to MN to see family, and fish on Ottertail Lake. In the late 80s MaryAnn returned to MN to be near her family. She applied her artistic talent and warm personality to design kitchens for Budget Power. She soon met the love of her life Clyde Lindberg. They married in 1991 and enjoyed 22 years of fishing, travel, cards, entertaining, gardening, and adventure. After retirement, MaryAnn volunteered as a poll worker, helped many as a support group mentor, and became a supporter of Wounded Warriors. She was actively involved in the lives of her many nieces, nephews and children and grandchildren. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents Jack & Lillian Schmid and her niece Kate Schmid.
