Wengler, M.D. of Orono, MN passed away peacefully at home on Jan 12, 2024 surrounded by family. He was a well respected and loved orthopedic surgeon. He had an incredible love of life. Aside from his career, he was a talented woodworker, avid fisherman, traveler and gourmet. He loved being the volunteer physician for the Molokai Races in Hawaii yearly and his generosity was felt by all who knew him. He chased his dreams, worked in a profession he loved but most important, fell in love and made a beautiful family that meant the world to him. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his dear friends and family. He loved each of them so profoundly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lila. He is survived by loving wife, Gitte, sons Gunner (Lisa) and Gabe and daughter Grace, father Robert, brother Rob (Miriam), sisters Cathy (Dayne) and Kirsten (Pat) and many nieces and nephews. His first grandchild will be arriving in the near future and will have a life filled with tales of his grandfather. His legacy will live on through his family, friends, devoted canine Bernice, and her puppies. We will hold him close in mind and spirit forever.
