Neil Freeman Obituary
Freeman, Neil D. age 83, of Bloomington, died peacefully November 19, 2007. As a Merchant Marine, he proudly served in WWII, traveled the globe, and survived the sinking of the John P. Gaines Liberty ship when it broke in two and sank in Alaskan waters the night of November 24, 1943. He retired from printing in the Twin Cities, and enjoyed autumn fowl hunting, cameras, photography, gadgets, story-telling, and jokes. Neil was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne, of 54 years; parents, Clarence and Frieda; brother, Marvin. He is survived by his sister Clarabelle; nieces, Christine (Freeman) Hamlin, Rochelle (Foushee) Marceau, Paula (Foushee) Elert; nephew, William Foushee, and several grand nieces and grand nephews. Memorial service 10 AM Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at St. Edward the Confessor Episcopal Church, 865 N. Ferndale Rd., Wayzata. Memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society.
