Obituary

Nicholas Peterson Obituary Peterson, Nicholas B. "Nik" passed away unexpectedly at home on February 23. Nik grew up in Orono, MN where his wanderlust and sense of adventure began. He attended school at Blake, Orono, and graduated from Skyview High School in Billings, MT. Soon after, he began a life of adventure, primarily as a paraglider pilot, skydiver, instructor, and gardener. He lived, worked and played in Minnesota, Montana, Washington, California, Arizona, Utah and Alaska, where he touched countless lives teaching others to paraglide, kite and skydive. He was a Legend of the Sky, known to many as "Sik Nik," a Sky Brother. He is remembered for his smile, sweet spirit, sense of humor, determination, grit, passion, and care for others. Born on the earth, but of the sky. A bird man. He is survived by his wife, Karolien Dreisen, his father Brad Peterson (Susan Rockwood), his mother Nan Peterson, and his three brothers Matthew (Keri), Alex (Rhonda Schwoerer), and Ford (Julie), and six nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be, appropriately, on Leap Day, Monday, February 29 at 3:00 PM at Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Blvd. E. in Wayzata. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to The Retreat, 1221 Wayzata Blvd. E, Wayzata, MN 55391. Summer celebration to be announced. BLUE SKIES
