Obituary

Norma Goodmundson Obituary Norma L Goodmundson, age 88 of Plymouth, MN passed away on April 4, 2012 at her home of sixty years with daughter Susan by her side. Norma is preceded in death by husband Carl and survived by children, Gary (Janis) of Chesapeake, VA, Susan MacMillan, Sonoma,CA, Daniel (Ann) of Wayzata and Dale (Sue) of Bettendorf, IA. Norma remained interested, informed and inquisitive in each of her eleven, all favorites, grandchildren and felt especially blessed with her nine great-grandchildren. Norma was born on a small farm near Indian Creek, WI, and was the youngest of Bert and Vina Petersons six children. After graduating from Frederic High School in 1941, Norma followed her sister Verna to Chicago and worked at the Sweden House Hotel. It was in Chicago that she met Carl while he was training at the Great Lakes Naval Base. They married at the conclusion of the war in 1945. In 1952, Norma and Carl settled at 304 North Avon Road and raised their four children. In 1965 at age 42, Norma began her long career in banking at the North Shore State bank which is currently Anchor Bank. Her people and marketing skills served her well in the many varied positions she ascended to. Norma thoroughly enjoyed banking and made many wonderful friends and colleagues. She was most proud of her active involvement with Business and Professional Women (BPW), National Assn of Banking Women, Interfaith Outreach, Chamber of Commerce activities, promoting the interests of Anchor Bank, organizing senior outings, and managing the annual bank sponsored "Ice Out" contest. Norma was very honored to be selected the Wayzata Chamber's Person of the Year in 1991. Norma was a sixty year member of Messiah United Methodist Church and volunteered in many church activities. Special thank you to Normas caregivers, Sue Aeshliman, Stephanie Salonek and Jean Rondondo. Funeral service 2PM Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Messiah United Methodist Church, 17805 County Rd. 6, Plymouth. Visitation 5-7PM Tuesday at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Parkers Lake Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Messiah United Methodist Church.
