Norman Sauter Obituary Sauter, Norman Arthur, age 87 of Moline, Illinois, died December 3, 2007 in Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reola and his parents, Arthur and Lillian. Survived by wife, Janet; daughters, Helene Minot (Greg) and Tania Minot; sons, Michael (Ruth Ann) and Douglas (Mary); grandchildren, Ryan, Ezra, Eric and Annalise Sauter, Sheri Sauter Morano, Omar and Nina Hamid; greatgrandchild, Peter Michael Morano. Norman held numerous patents and was a world recognized expert in alternative fuels such as biomass and coal liquefaction and gasification. He was on the city council of Moline, Illinois and helped in the vestry at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rock Island, Illinois. He enjoyed golfing, music and traveling. Memorial services were held on Saturday in Rock Island, Illinois.
