Pamela Bacon Obituary Bacon, Pamela Gibbs a great-great granddaughter of John Deere passed away at age 79 on Monday, August 21, 2017. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she lived in Wayzata, MN for her entire life. Pamela was a loving wife, dedicated mother, endearing grandmother, faithful daughter, caring sister and an embracing mother-in-law. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication to her family and friends, untold strength in the face of adversity, her incredible culinary talents, passion for swimming at her cabin in Park Rapids and love of music and singing. She attended Northrop School and the University of Minnesota. She was active in community service and was a member of LeagueAires for 44 years starting in 1966, receiving a lifetime achievement award in 2015. She is preceded in death by a son, Nicholas, who died at birth, her father, Merrill H. Gibbs, her mother, Kate Velie Gibbs, her sister, Margorie Gibbs Japy, her brother, Merrill H. Gibbs Jr. and her husband, John Stille Bacon. She is survived her children, Kate Bacon Bullings (Anthony), Michael John Bacon, Jeffrey Merrill Bacon (Lorena), and Stephen Deere. Bacon (Melanie). She (Mamie) is also survived by seven grandchildren, Ashly, Kate, John, Wellington, Kyla, Grace and Naima, and one great- grandson, Cade. A celebration of her life will be held at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis on September 16, 2017 at 2 pm.
