Obituary

Paul Droher Obituary Paul Frederick Drher, age 67, of Orono, MN and formerly of Owatonna, MN, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018. His sudden illness and death occurred while in London, UK on business. His wife and two children were able to fly to London to be by his side at his passing. Paul was born in St. Paul, MN on July 14, 1950. He was a graduate of Sibley High School, St. Paul and St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. After graduation, he was employed by Federated Mutual Insurance Companies within the corporate offices in Owatonna, MN. He served Federated for 46 years in many capacities, concluding as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Director, Secretary/Treasurer of the Federated Mutual Insurance Companies Board of Directors. In 1971, Paul and Phyllis Brinkman were married. They were blessed with two children and six grandchildren. His family was the light of his life, sharing precious time at family homes, at their lake cabin and enjoying his childrens and grandchildrens sports and musical activities. Paul is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Allison (Jeff) Neaton; son, Eric (Melissa) Drher, and grandchildren, EllaMae, Sophie, Violet, Audrey, Jackson Paul (JP) and Hattie; mother, Lonelle Crawford; siblings, Barbara (John) Kline, Ron (Linda) Drher, Rick (Jerry) Drher, Lisa (Doug) Bah, Gale (Jeff) Dunn, and Jacob Drher. A memorial service will be held at St. Martins by-the-Lake Episcopal Church, 2801 Westwood Road, Minnetonka Beach on May 24, 2018 at 1 p.m. Family, friends and colleagues are also invited to a reception to celebrate Pauls life and visit with Pauls family from 2-4 p.m., May 24 at the Lafayette Club, 2800 Northview Road, Minnetonka Beach, MN 55361. Memorials are preferred to St. Martins by-the-Lake Episcopal Church Foundation, Trinity Lutheran Church of Watertown, MN and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church of Plymouth, MN.
