Paul Wood Obituary Paul Evan Wood, Age 82, of Plymouth Minn., peacefully went to be with the Lord April 6, 2013 following a stroke. He will be fondly remembered as a thoughtful, kind, gentle husband, father and grandfather who never failed to express his thankfulness for every deed and gracious gesture and whose love and generosity knew no limits. He was an avid Twins and football fan; he loved working a jigsaw puzzles and playing Scrabble. He enjoyed family events, singing, and bragging about the various talents of his wife, children and grandchildren. Paul grew up in Lima, Ohio, the youngest of three children to English immigrant parents. He attended St. Paul Bible College (now known as Crown College) and pastored in churches across the Midwest. In 55 years of career ministry, he served churches in Marion, Indiana; Quinney, Wisconson; Tracy, Minnesota; Hamlet, Nebraska; Osage, Iowa; and in the Twin Cities areaHazel Park Alliancenow Faith Alliance in St. Paul, and then at the Maple Plain Community Church. After official retirement in 1995, Paul served three interim pastorates, filled various pulpits as needed, and preached weekly at Copperfield Retirement community where he served as chaplain until November 2012. He also taught as an adjunct professor at Crown College, sat on the board of the Greater Minneapolis Association of Evangelicals, and served on many district and Bible camp committees with The Christian and Missionary Alliance. He will be remembered as an outstanding Bible teacher and communicator who led his congregations with love and understanding, and wise counsel. Paul is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Beverly; six children: Bernard and Jamie of Frisco, TX; Kathryn Russell of Maplewood, MN; Michael and Janelle of Waconia, MN; Douglas of Chanhassen, MN; David and Terry of Delano, MN; and Elaine and Jim Holty of Mable, MN.; 14 grand children: Andrea and Dave Nell, Ginger and Steve Ekholm, Nathan Wood, Jessica and Dusty Bendell, Ryan and Alyssa Wood, Bekah Wood, Benjamin Russell, Katherine and Caleb Fisher, Tim Wood, Scott Wood, Emilee Wood, Josh Wood, Natalie Holty, and Nick Holty; and 13 great grandchildren: Trinity, Faith, Gabriel, Hannah Isaiah, Davey, Lauren, Ava D, Ruby, Ava B, Sierra, Lila, and Evan. He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister Margaret, several relatives and many faithful believers, all waiting for the resurrection to life eternal with Jesus Christ.
