Paula Jillson Obituary Jillson, Paula A. (Gecan) Age 51, of Orono, Minnesota, departed this life Sunday, March 16, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 26, 1956, in Oregon, Illinois, the daughter of Stephen and Marilyn Feddeler Gecan. Paula was a graduate of Oregon High School and later entered St. Anthony School of Nursing and graduated with a registered nursing degree. She worked at OSF St. Anthony Hospital and later at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, then United Health Care and Marsh Sedgwick as a nurse case manager until her health issues prevented her from continuing with the career she so loved. Even when she became barely able to walk and drive she worked as a volunteer for The Interfaith Outreach Food Shelf in Wayzata and Haven Homes Nursing Home in Maple Plain delivering meals and visiting with those less fortunate than she. She was so caring and loving with all she had contact with and leaves many dear friends. She was united in marriage to Geoff Jillson on May 30, 1992, and they made their home in Wayzata, Minnesota, and Cape Coral, Florida. Survivors include her husband; parents; twin brother, Frank (Michele) Gecan; nephew, Brandon Gecan; aunts and cousins. Preceded in death by her brothers, Victor and Christopher Gecan. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial service 12:30 PM Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Wayzata Community Church, 125 East Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata, with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Following the service, a luncheon will be served. Paula's ashes, per her wishes, will later be scattered with the dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico.
