Obituary

Peter Hadley Obituary Peter Jon Hadley, age 77 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 23, 2017 at his home in Plymouth, MN. He was born May 1,1940 in Nevada, Iowa to Milo and Helen(Binder)Hadley and was the youngest of 2 boys. He graduated High School from Milford Township Consolidated School in Nevada, Iowa. Pete continued his education at Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in May 1961. While at Simpson he lettered in basketball and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Pete married his college sweetheart Suzanne(Sue)Buchanan on February 3,1962. They resided in Fort Dodge, Iowa where Pete worked for Vincent Clay Products before starting his 29 year career at Cargill in the Salt Division. On August 8,1962 and March 28,1965 Pete and Sue welcomed into their family a daughter, Deborah and a son, Jon. Pete and Sue moved to Chaska, MN in 1967 and eventually built a home in Chanhassen, MN where they lived for many years and raised their family. Pete was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching Football, Basketball and Baseball. Through the years Pete enjoyed playing on "old" men's Basketball and Softball leagues. Petes love for the outdoors was his passion. He was an avid fisherman. Weekends and vacations were spent camping and exploring all the best fishing spots. Special to Petes heart was Little Boy Lake, where he spent many vacations with his parents, Milo and Helen and many weekends camping and fishing with friends at Little Boy Resort. Another fishing spot Pete enjoyed was Fish Trap Lake, where Pete and Sue have had a cabin for the past 20 years. Pete was a charter member and past President of the Twin Cities Chapter of Muskies Incorporated. Needless to say Pete was quite a skilled Muskie fisherman. Pete took a job transfer with Cargill to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1985. They lived there for 5 years before returning to Minnesota. In 1991 Pete and Sue lost their son, Jon to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Pete retired October 1995 from Cargill and so began his love of going to Estate sales and Auctions. Pete became quite the collector. When Sue retired they were able to enjoy many traveling adventures together. Their last trip taken was a wonderful trip to Iowa where they enjoyed doing many things, seeing relatives and catching up with old friends. In recent years Pete had rediscovered his enjoyment in the game of golf and played his last round in Iowa with a longtime friend less than a week before he passed. Pete loved spending time with his three grandchildren Andrew, Nicole and Cassie and one great granddaughter, Ashlynn. Pete was a gentle, loving person who had a sparkle in his eye and a great sense of humor . He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his loyal dog, Macy. Pete is survived by his wife, Sue of 55 years; Daughter, Debbie(Jim) Miller; 3 Grandchildren Andrew, Nicole, and Cassie Miller; 1 Great Granddaughter, Ashlynn Gunderson; Daughter-in-law, Linda Hadley; Brother, Wilbert(Joyce)Hadley; Nephew, Tim(Jenna) Hadley; 3 Great Nephews Connor, Trevor and Tanner Hadley; and many other dear family members and friends.
