Randy Monson Obituary Randy Lee Monson, 71, of Wayzata, Minnesota, passed away on May 5, 2025. A master plumber by trade and a master of colorful language by nature, Randy left behind a legacy of strong opinions and soldered pipes. Born August 16, 1953, Randy was a man of grit, perseverance, and unshakable follow-through. He never fully recovered from the loss of his beloved son, Matt, who died at just 25. Though once married and later divorced, Randy moved through life with a stubborn heart and a sharp mind. He was a fixture at the cribbage tables of the Wayzata American Legion, known for his quick wit, sharp memory, and gift for pushing buttons. He cussed freely, argued with conviction, and showed his care in the ways he knew how. Hard-headed in the best and worst of ways, Randy didnt just have opinionshe stuck to them. A fierce defender of his opinions, he met every disagreement with determination and a raised eyebrow. Trump lost a constituent; the rest of us lost an original. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, George Monson and Helen & Bill Wolf, and his son, Matt Monson. He is survived by his brother, Gary "Bucky" Monson and sister-in-law, Linda, as well as several nieces, a nephew, and great-nieces and nephews. In his honor, play a hand of cribbage, question everything, and fix the leak.
