Day, Richard F., Jr. (Rick) Age 50, of Maple Plain, MN passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with colon cancer on June 23 with his family and Jody at his side. Preceded in death by mother, Constance Day; son, Richard Day III. Survived by daughter, Brittney; son, Brandon; father and stepmother, Richard and Marlene Day; brother, Dobber (Kelly) Day; sisters, Cherie Day, Chris (Kevin) Schaffer, and Cindy (Jim) Stairs; stepbrother, Bob Weikle; stepsisters, Vicki (Al) Austad, and Kerri Lewis; beloved friend and companion, Jody Lane; former wife, Jody Town; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rick was Vice President/General Manager of Day Distributing of Maple Plain. He started working for his uncle (Robert Day) when he was 17 years old. He worked his way up from sweeping the warehouse floors and stacking beer cases to his current position. Robert would have been so proud of Rick and his accomplishments. Rick was a wonderful father, son, brother, nephew, and friend and will be deeply missed by us all. Rick loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will live in our hearts forever. A special thanks to business partner and lifelong friend Frank Warner, who helped Rick and his family through this difficult time. Also we would like to thank the Cancer Center, Waconia Hospital, and staff. Memorial service Friday 11 AM, at Christ Lutheran Church, 5084 Main St., Maple Plain.
