Richard Dunlap Obituary
Dunlap, Richard James of Mound, died December 13, 2006 at age 39. Preceded in death by father, David. Survived by mother, Diane; brother, William James; sister, Janene Bren (Tom); niece, Brianna; nephew, Blake; many aunts, uncles and cousins; an his companion/Helping Dog, Lacie. Rick attended Orono schools and graduated from Kents Hill School, Maine, in 1987. Graduated DeVry Institute, Kansas, in 1994 with a BA in Telecommunications Management. He was especially devoted to his many loyal friends and aides who stayed with him through his diving accident in 1998 and subsequent quadriplegia. He was determined to live productively on his own and worked part-time in the computer field. Rick hunted with an adapted cross-bow and adapted rifle. He was a whiz at Sudoku and had a jig-saw puzzle going at all times. He was an avid sports fan of the Gophers, Vikes and Twins. He will be remembered as a generous and loving person who met the challenges of his disability with resourcefulness and the will to have a happy life.
