Richard Picard Obituary Born June 3, 1929 and died December 24, 2019 surrounded by family. Survived by wife of 29 years, Sandy; children, Rick (Jean), Linda (Tom Milette), Jim (Marcia); step children, Kelly Steffler (Matt), Jay Thanig (Sarah); grandchildren, Neal (Dilek) Picard, Bradley Picard, Adam Ronning, Lindsey Hawton (Scott McCullough), Zachery (Brittany) Picard, Jerome Picard; step grandchildren, Alec Thanig, Abigail and Brenna Steffler; and great grandchildren, Destiny, Lily, Harper, Mason, Patricia, and Finnley; sister, Mary Schneider (Jerry). Preceded in death by sisters, Frannie (Chuck) Weber, Ethel Mae (Dick) Benjamin; mother, Ethel Neal Picard and father, George Picard. Attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he was captain of the wrestling team and a Big Ten Champion. He graduated there with a BS in Agricultural Economics and then graduated from Michigan State University with a Masters in Business. Served in the Korean War as Second Lieutenant in the Air Force. Dick loved watching sports, fishing, tennis, traveling, boating and fishing with his grandchildren. Dicks career involved all aspects of the grocery business. Funeral Monday, December 30, at 11 AM at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd East. Visitation 1 hour prior. Special thanks to Gianna Homes for their loving care.
