Richard Reed Jr Obituary
Reed, Richard A. Jr., Dick, age 76, of Plymouth, MN passed away peacefully August 4 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Judy; sons Daniel (Ilonka) of Brackenheim, Germany and Steve of Arlington, Virginia; grandchildren Lou (Deniz) and Michelle, in Germany; brother, David (Lois); sisters, Dottie Sesnie (Tom); Sandy Murphy (Danny) and Jackie Tietz; many nieces, nephews and treasured friends. Dick was born in Dunkirk, NY and studied music at SUNY Fredonia, NY. Stationed worldwide during a 20+ year military career in the Air Force Band program he played for all the US Presidents during that time. The love of music continued to be shared through Dicks dedication to church and community. Both became benefactors of his talents for many, many years. Gardening, reading and helping others were but a few of his other passions. Beginning at 2:00, a memorial concert will be held in Dicks honor on Saturday, Sept. 28th at Wayzata Community Church. A Service of Remembrance will begin at 2:30 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wayzata Community Church Deacons Fund or Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners would be appreciated. Dicks spirit lives on. His music endures. We have been blessed. Interment at Ft. Snelling was held earlier
