Obituary

Ris Lamoureux Obituary Ris Lamoureux was born February 18th, 1966, in Edina, Minnesota. She was adopted by Jack and Rita Lamoureux through Catholic Charities in St. Paul. She grew up in Wayzata and attended high school at Benilde-St. Margarets, class of 1984. On September 1st, 1990, Ris married David Olson, where they resided in Vermillion, South Dakota. Together they would raise 4 children, divorcing in 2006. Ris was a lover of the fine arts, a friend to animals, and in her youth, enjoyed skiing, horse-back riding, softball, and attending summer camps. Much of her adult life was spent loving and supporting her children, raising dogs and cats, gardening and tending beautiful indoor plants, and binge watching shows. Ris also met her birth mother, Lynn Masica, and rekindled their relationship, plus she learned more about her extended family and ancestral history. She had her struggles with the disease of addiction, and her mental and physical health, but she overcame her battles, and at the time of her death, December 21st, 2022, she was sober for over a year. Ris is survived by her four children, Cole, Kailee, Kelsey and Quentin Olson, mother, Rita Lamoureux, brother, sisters, and many nieces and nephews, lifelong friendships and everyone she ever hugged. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Lamoureux, brother, sister, and several friends made along her sober journey.
