Robert 'Bobby' Coughlin Obituary Robert Raymond "Bobby" Coughlin was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to
so many. Bobby was born to Tim and Bridgit (Fortin) Coughlin on April 8, 1984. He began his
formal education at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School and graduated from Wayzata High
School in 2002. He attended college at St. Cloud State University and graduated in 2007 with a
Finance degree. Upon graduation he began his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
During his 15 year career he served the Veterans and their families with compassion and
respect. He was a loyal and valued employee.
Bobby was a kind, caring and witty soul with a playful, mischievous side. He held a special
place in his heart for his Dad and Mom whom he often referred to as his "Best Friends". Along
with his parents he adored his Grandparents Ken and Katherine Fortin, his Godparents Tom and
Joanne Coughlin and VERY special Aunt Kathy (Dovie) and Uncle John Nilson. He consistently
honored his Grandmother's advice and never paid full price for anything!
Bobby was an avid sports fan. His keen sense of numbers led to his uncanny ability of following
and retaining sports statistics. His radio was forever tuned to KFAN, listening and trying to out
analyze the commentators.
His pride and joy were his black Beemers. He enjoyed traveling around town searching for the
best bargains, visiting friends and family, attending sporting events and picking up pizza at
Latuff's Pizzeria for Friday Pizza Night with Mom and Dad.
Bobby loved any opportunity to vacation. As a kid he looked forward to the annual vacations to
Cold Spring Resort on Gull Lake. He loved walking the beaches of Maui and the Florida gulf
coast, hiking the Black Hills and visiting Mount Rushmore. He appreciated the majestic beauty
of Colorado when attending family weddings, and loved relaxing at one of Minnesotas most
beautiful and peaceful places, the North Shore.
We take solace in knowing Grandma Fortin is welcoming him with loving arms, a pan of her
homemade fudge, and a freshly baked lemon cake with extra thick frosting. Grandpa Fortin and
he are discussing what the Vikings need to do to pull off that unexpected Super Bowl win this
year. He and Franny Iverson are hoping the results of the elections go the right way, much to
Uncle Tom Stires chagrin. Grandma Couglin has made her famous Scotcheroo bars just for
him, and he finally gets to meet Grandpa Ray Coughlin whom he was named after. We know he
is dancing the days and nights away to the tune "We Are Family" with cousin Amie Coughlin as
they have done at so many weddings together. All this love being given while he has his
beloved dog Bailey Rae in tow. We will miss his sparkling blue eyes and his smile that would
light up a room. We love you to the Moon and back, Bobby.
