Obituary

Robert Frick Obituary Frick, Robert B. Age 87, of Plymouth and Wayzata. Bob passed away April 26, 2010 after a several year battle with Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by Mary Anne (Baer), his loving wife of 60 years. He was predeceased by parents Alvin and Myrtle; sister, Anne Marie, and son, Stuart. Bob was born and raised in Wayzata, graduated from Wayzata High School in 1941 and enrolled at the U of M until war broke out at which time he enlisted in the US Army and served in the 161st Artillery Division in the South Pacific until the end of the war. Upon his return he completed his degree in business and soon entered the banking world at Wayzata State Bank following in his father Alvin's footsteps. His long banking career took him through the ranks until he became bank president in 1972. In 1980 Bob became president and of the Wayzata Insurance Agency. Bob was American Legion Post 118 Commander in 1949, Rotary President, Board member Minnesota Bankers Association, Wayzata Community Church Treasurer, Hammer School board, Wayzata Country Club board, Wayzata Chamber President, many other civic associations. Bob loved the outdoors and rarely missed fishing openers on Lake Mille Lacs or duck opener at his hunting camp in western Minnesota with his sons and fishing/hunting pals. Survived by son, Steven (Kathy), Alex (Andrea and daughter Sofia), Benjamin, Sarah, Maggie; daughter, Cecelia Cook (Alex); daughter, Ann Goodmundson (Daniel), Charles, Douglas (Ashley); son Stuart's wife Sue, Stuart's children Katie, Callie and Mia; stepchildren, Jef (daughter Jada) and Tracy Blanchette; son, Ronald (Sheri) Whitney and Kristin; sister, Lois Palmer and husband Donald; many nephews, nieces and relatives. Memorial service 10 AM Saturday (TODAY) at Wayzata Community Church, 125 E Wayzata Blvd. Visitation one hour prior to service. A special thanks to the caring staff at St. Therese for Bob's comfort and care.
